STORIES THAT TEACH HOW TO LIVE – Fantasies and emotions through words – Authors of books, convinced of the value of words as a tool to arriv e at the emotional world of children, develop some narrative proposals which take into account both the problems of children and their diffe rent psycho-evolutive levels, grading for them in each narration, them es, emotions, values and strategies. Taking off from their own experie nce as educators, They choose stories as a pedagogical resource becaus e it awakens in children curiousity, motivates learning, stimulates im agination and permits understanding oneÆs own feelings and those of ot hers. In the same way, the story helps to identify with persons, and t o let lose fantasy and creativity. The themes of the stories reflect d ifferent cultural environments, making it possible that the children k now and compare other cultures with their own. For each story there ar e suggestions for the narrator, the most appropriate environment and f ollow up activities.
